The Side Channel Blower is a turbomachine used for the air and generally gas movement, both in vacuum (as an aspirator) and in pressure (as a compressor). The operating principle is based on the repeated action exerted by the impeller blades on the processed fluid, in the presence of a toroidal channel placed laterally to the impeller itself (hence the name "lateral channel"). The final result of this combined and repeated action of the impeller and side channel is a transfer of energy to the fluid, with a sort of multistage effect, which causes a consequent increase in pressure.
